Dear Mr. Sciam,

Many thanks for your splendid summary of Mondrian’s Broadway Boogie Woogie.
It would be a good thing if Mondrian himself could see it, because I think that he alone could be its true judge.
It is a little bit long for my taste. Mondrian also prized brevity.

I like your two paintings. You appear to be well aware of the fact that there is no great disciple and also that art is something to be invented for oneself because the forms of art serve only once.

Let Mondrian be Mondrian, Sciam will be Sciam.
